Fashion Insider: Full Circle by David Peck

Hola Chicas!

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Full Circle event hosted by CrOp by David Peck for the celebration of a two-season partnership with the Covenant House Texas.  The fall soiree was the introduction of the launch of Y.A.C.H.T. The Young Associates for the Covenant House Texas, a professional organization, with an emphasis on raising funds and awareness for Covenant House Texas, is a diverse group of progressive, career-minded young professionals who care about the issue of youth homelessness and want to make a difference.

Young professionals dined on light bites from local organic eatery, Roots Bistro, and sipped the wines and beers of their choice as  an informal presentation of CrOp FW 2012 Collection “Coming Home was presented. To add excitement to the event, guests were able to capture a little fun with The Traveling Photo Booth and raffled prizes including an art session and a night on the town in a David Peck dress.

Me and my blogger buddy, Nikki were given the chance to be dressed in a garment of our choice by the sustainable and eco-fashion designer for the evening.

Take a look at more photos from the event and details of our looks below:

For this event I opted for a romper (no shock I LOVE them), which I cinched with a belt, with a blazer and beaded collar for a little pop tomboy diva. I loved the pockets in the romper!! BONUS!!

Fashion Insider: My H&M Experience

Guess who’s finally back from a much needed vacation, Yours Truly! I came back to Houston just in time for the Grand Opening of Houston’s first H&M store in Baybrook Mall, which so happens to be close to my house!! (Daily trips literally) There were contests and campouts going on just to be the first to get inside of the store as everyone was going crazy about H&M finally being in Houston. I knew I could camp out, I love fashion but I love to sleep more! LOL!

I made it to the mall at about 10:00 am with the thought of I’d be one of the first 500 to receive my giftcard but little did I know that the mall was covered wall to wall with people standing in line just to enter the heavenly gates of H&M. Good thing I knew people in line because I would of just turned around without a second thought, but I jumped in line and join the fashion tango line as it seemed. (Mind you while in Dallas I visited both H&M locations)

The store wasn’t scheduled to be open until 12pm, so I had about two hours to talk to people in line and take imprompt photos of excitement and exhaustion on everyone’s face. But as FAITH would have it, a close friend of mine came to the rescue of me and another blogger friend, MalibuMara to enter the store to shop before everyone else and meet Nicole Christie, spokesperson of H&M and buyer on Fashion Star. Can you say my blogger dreams have come true!!

Just entering the store I couldn’t think straight with all of the fashionable displays of the latest trends for a budget friendly blogger like myself! I literally could of took just one of everything from tanks to shorts, to swimwear and coverups, to jewelry and shoes!! I was at the counter 3X to checkout! (I’ll surely be on the dollar menu diet for the next two weeks) I loved everything about the store from the layout, the employees, prices, and fashionable customer service.

Take a look at some candid photos from the event:

Are you as excited as I am for the arrival of H&M in Houston??

My Style: Aztec My Blues

I had the opportunity to attend one of the BIGGEST fashion events here in Houston called Simon Fashion Now (Event Coverage Post), sponsored by Cadillac Houston. It was an event full of fashionable movers and shakers here in Houston, as well as this Spring’s Must-Have Trends.

Since Tribal Prints are on trend for Spring, I decided to wear something that I have always had a fear of wearing, the Bodycon dress. Yeah I know, crazy fear. Paired with a few of my essential pieces, I was able to pull off this trend with full confidence.

Take a Look:

Blazer, Bangles, and Earrings - Forever 21 | Dress - Langford Market | Shoes - Aldo | Necklace - Charlotte Russe

Stayed in theme with a nice Tribal necklace! Got it at a steal for less than $3.00.

Earring Trick: Combine two hoop earrings to make it look like you are wearing one.

Combined an assortment of bangles to add a metallic element to the outfit.

Love the Fringe details of these shoes!

The BEST part of the dress, the sheer panel in the back!

I guess it is obvious what my favorite part of the outfit was, what is YOURS?

Fashion Insider: Lia Sophia’s “Fashion Gets Fun” Event

Lia Sophia is taking the USA by storm by stopping into cities like Houston (my hometown), Dallas and other upcoming fashionable markets with their mobile jewelry party to showcase to none other than regular shoppers who love a fashionable event. When they decided to stop into Houston, Texas, I knew I had to see what all the virtual fuss was about.

Attendees were given styling and trend tips by Lia Sophia Advisors that were onsite to answer questions from how to order product to how to become an advisor for one of the most innovative jewelry companies to date. Guests were also treated to complementary manicures and makeup touchups by NYX Cosmetics and sparkling juices by Izze Beverge Company, as displays of the jewelry company’s latest pieces from their 2012 Spring/Summer Collection for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

When asked what makes Lia Sophia different from other jewelry company, every Advisor stated the same reason, LIFETIME WARRANTY. That answer would give me enough confident to surely purchase! With the jewelry company being family owned and oreinted, it’s passion is showcased by their partnership with Dress For Success, as well as, helping women connect to their dreams of owning their own business.

Visit the Lia Sophia website for more information on how to order product from your local Advisor or become an Advisor for yourself!
